National Meal Prep Day, observed on 9 June 2024, is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the art of preparing healthy, sustainable meals in advance. Here at Kvuno, we believe in improving the livelihoods and nutrition of our farmers as organized planning can lead to healthier eating habits and a greener planet.
“I got a chance to receive a bicycle from Z’wardy. I am so grateful to have this bike as a lady here in the village. In the past, I used to walk long distances to visit my family and other farmers, but now since my contributions towards a greener environment were rewarded, things are so much better,” says Violet Matshaka, Kvuno Lead Farmer.
Violet’s journey underscores the transformative power of community-driven initiatives. With the training and resources provided by Kvuno, including her new bicycle, Violet can now efficiently travel between farms, enhancing her productivity and community engagement. “I am also grateful for not just the bike and training, but I am also thankful that our harvests are now more and we can feed our families with diversified crops and better nutrition. Kvuno has taught us to feed ourselves by taking care of the environment.”
By embracing sustainable farming, Violet and her community have achieved food security and improved nutrition. “We are no longer hungry in these communities and can thrive. Thank you, Kvuno, for improving our nutrition, knowledge, and more,” she says.
This National Meal Prep Day, let’s take a leaf out of Violet’s book and embrace meal prep to foster healthier lifestyles and a sustainable future. Join Kvuno in celebrating the farmers and initiatives that make this possible!
